Abstract

The activity of tapping rubber sap is a routine that has been carried out by the residents of Tanjung Aur Village for generations. So far, the activity of tapping rubber sap is still done manually and relies on the strength of the hands and back in doing so. Health problems that usually often occur in rubber tappers are back pain problems. This study aims to see how the influence of clover leaf aromatherapy on the intensity of rubber tappers' back pain. The sample in this study were rubber tappers in Tanjung Aur Village, amounting to 20 people who were selected using a purposive sampling technique and met several criteria. This research is a quasi-experimental one group pre-test post-test design. This research was conducted from April to May 2022 in Tanjung Aur Village, Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The results of the analysis using the Wilcoxone test obtained a p value of < 0.002 which further concluded that there was a significant effect of using clover leaf aromatherapy on the intensity of rubber tappers' back pain in Tanjung Aur Village, Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province.
